Contrasting Perspectives in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Like many Israelis, Bronx-born Eli Knoller, who holds dual citizenship and resides in an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, hopes that the next American president will allow Israel to “finish the job” against Hamas in Gaza, where his son tragically lost his life in battle. In stark contrast, Abduljabbar Alqam, a Palestinian American…

Travel Boundaries? Not Here: A Guide to Passport-Free Explorations for U.S. Citizens
Are you wondering where your next exploration might lead you? The wide world is an enticing playground, but sometimes the passport process can be a bit of a hiccup in your dreams.
Well, today, we're lifting the lid off some splendid locations that don't need that little blue book for U.S. citizens. And what's more, we're blending this excursion talk with some Disneyland dream weaving. Buckle up, as we embark on a ride of fascinating, passport-free destinations and tap into your inner Disneyland travel planner.
Passport-Free Locations: The Domestic Delights
Unleash the explorer within you and embark on an exploration right within the U.S. Get ready to discover hidden gems and iconic landmarks, right here in the homeland. From the stunning landscapes of the Grand Canyon and the serene beauty of Yellowstone National Park to the cultural richness of New Orleans, and the vibrant streets of New York City, the U.S. boasts of diverse environments that can satisfy every type of traveler.
While you're at it, why not make it a road trip? There's nothing quite like the feeling of the open road and the thrill of uncovering new locations at your own pace. Toss in your favorite tunes, and some tasty snacks, and you've got yourself a perfect domestic excursion.
Island Escapades: No Passport Needed
Yearning for a taste of tropical paradise? Well, here's some good news: there are gorgeous island destinations you can travel to from the U.S. without a passport. Have you considered the enchanting lands of Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands? These tropical destinations are brimming with sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and an abundance of sun!
With the ever-enthusiastic travel planner in you, think about creating a travel itinerary that balances beach relaxation and cultural exploration. From the El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico to the underwater snorkeling trails in the U.S. Virgin Islands, these destinations promise an island experience like no other!
Disneyland Awaits: Doing Proper Travel Planning
Now that we've got your wanderlust sparked, let's switch gears and dive into the world of Disneyland. Planning a Disneyland vacation can seem overwhelming with the plethora of options, but the inner Disneyland travel planner in you has got this covered.
Start by determining the perfect time for your visit. Remember, "off-peak" times often mean fewer crowds and shorter lines. Also, consider the various accommodation options available. You can choose to stay on-site for the full Disneyland experience or opt for nearby hotels for more economical options. Don't forget to make a list of the must-try rides, restaurants, and shows to ensure you don't miss anything.
Disneyland Travel Planner: Dining and Shopping
Dining and shopping are integral parts of any Disneyland vacation. As a Disneyland travel planner, scout out the best dining spots to suit your taste buds. Do you fancy a quick-service meal or a sit-down restaurant experience? Also, remember that dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance at Disneyland, so mark those calendars!
As for shopping, Disneyland is a haven for those looking for unique and fun souvenirs. Whether it's Mickey Mouse ear hats, Disneyland-themed clothing, or collectibles, you'll find plenty of items to bring home as mementos of your fantastic trip!
Passport-Free Northern Wonders: Oh, Canada
Another passport-free option for U.S. citizens is our neighbor to the north, Canada, but only if you're entering by land or sea. From the majestic Rocky Mountains and the thunderous Niagara Falls to vibrant cities like Toronto and Vancouver, Canada is a trove of natural beauty and multicultural richness.
This is another great opportunity to put your travel planner skills to the test. Plan your days to enjoy a mix of nature, culture, and urban exploration. Whether you're hiking in Banff National Park, exploring the historical sites of Quebec, or delighting in Vancouver's culinary scene, Canada won't disappoint!
Other Uncharted Territories: Exploring the Unusual
In addition to our standard passport-free options, other unique locations might tickle your fancy. Consider American Samoa, a U.S. territory in the South Pacific, known for its rugged landscapes, or the Northern Mariana Islands, with its striking cliffs and inviting beaches. These less-traveled destinations can add a unique twist to your travel stories!
Meanwhile, as your travel planner instincts kick in, consider adding unusual activities to your itinerary too. Try out the lesser-known rides or explore hidden gems like the "Penny Arcade" in Main Street, U.S.A., or the secret path in New Orleans Square.
Conclusion
From passport-free travels to the art of Disneyland planning, the possibilities are boundless. The world is an incredible place, teeming with exciting locales that require no passport for U.S. citizens. And with your newfound travel planner skills, your next Disneyland visit is sure to be a blast.
Whether you choose the local delights of the U.S., tropical islands, our friendly neighbors to the north, or other uncharted territories, there is an array of travel opportunities awaiting you. So let's embrace the thrill of exploration, the joy of planning, and make unforgettable memories. After all, every new place we visit, every culture we experience, and every memory we make adds another chapter to our wonderful story of life.

I live in India and I have family that live in the UK and they’ve all sent their kids to live with relatives abroad the remainder of the summer break bcs of the riots
Yeah my parents would do the same if I was a little kid and that was happening around me. I mean truly people shouldn’t be that alarmed. I feel comfortable traveling there and taking my family there (well as much as I did before). But some of our families have seen and fled from some pretty serious shit and are just not taking any chances.
#if this were happening in a middle eastern country it would be equally fine to travel there but you better bet every European country plus#the U.S. would warn their citizens not to go and no one would be beating down my door about it

I’m sorry but you can’t cry “human rights violation!!!!” when you are actively carrying out a campaign of genocide.
#sorry but it doesn’t work like that!#you can’t decry humans rights violations of a group that doesn’t even represent a majority of innocent people (by the way)…#…if you are actively carrying out a genocide under the thinly veiled guise of going after that group#Genocide which is y’know one of the greatest violations of human rights since it seeks to completely eradicate one group of people.#like there are innocent people being caught in the crosshairs on both sides#not everyone living in Israel or who is Jewish supports the Israel government’s bombings of Gaza#not every Palestinian supports Hamas or condones their brutal attacks on innocent civilians#but to try and conflate the actions of a militant group to represent the thinking of all of the citizens and be an excuse to destroy them…#…isn’t right and deserves to be held accountable#also stop acting like there is not a massive power imbalance present#Israel has the Iron Dome and their own military forces and funding from the U.S.#Hamas has missels and stock piled resources from funding from Iran#Israel controls the food water fuel and medicine access to those that have been forced to live in Gaza#they are not in any way shape or form on equal footing which doesn’t make this a ‘war’#I can’t wrap my head around the fact that one of the groups persecuted in one of the most horrifying genocides is currently conducting…#…a genocide on another group of people#the rhetoric of gov’t officials from Israel dehumanizing innocent civilians points to the fact that this isn’t about retribution#but to conduct a genocide#if you don’t think that the current actions of the Israeli government aren’t wrong and are supporting it you can unfollow and block me!#like it’s not black and white but the actions that are currently happening are not acceptable

Anyway. This is something I recently told an IRL friend, but I deleted another friend's number and haven't talked to them for a couple years now for several reasons, a big one being that they turned out to be a lowkey Trump supporter. And one who all but laughed in my face when I admitted that I was scared of being deported or put into a concentration detention camp, at that.
I am a biracial woman who was born, raised, and spent most of my life outside America--if you support Trump I don't care how close we were before, we are no longer friends.
#rhys-ravenfeather signing on#anti trump#politics#for the record i AM a legal u.s. citizen through my dad#but as stated i spent most of my life outside america and for a while i didn't even have a u.s. passport for reasons#and don't anyone DARE clown on this post--when i made an anti-trump post some time back someone was like#'get citizenship or don't get employed' or something like that#listen you clown--i AM an american#the fact that i'm half-black and was raised outside america doesn't make me any less 'american' than you#so shut up

I'm guessing a lot of people have heard this already, but if you are a U.S. citizen and need your passport renewed, the expedited process is taking between 7 to 9 weeks. Many countries around the world require that your passport has at least six months validity remaining when you travel. Get your renewal request in as early as possible before your scheduled travel.
If you have upcoming travel scheduled within 1 to 2 weeks, you may be able to get additional assistance expediting your renewal through a passport agency, but you will need to provide your travel confirmation - plane tickets or the equivalent.
As a last ditch, but often effective, way to go, you can email your Congressperson for help for urgent, unexpected travel. Be prepared to explain why your travel is urgent for business or personal reasons. They may help if it's just a vacation, but they're more likely to help if it's something significant and truly unexpected like family illness or business that cannot be conducted remotely.
A standard passport book is about $130, with additional $60 for expediting.
Hope this helps someone!
#psa#renew your u.s. passport#i recommend all u.s. citizens have a valid passport#assuming you can afford the processing fee#this is not legal advice#just general advice

i. forgot that i needed to write an essay before i could do world-building.
#its only 5 pages i only have like one-two more pages to go#but i'm having fun with it because it's very snarky and#it's about the socio-political impacts of hostile legislation on queer youth#my favorite sentence thus far is: queerness is this decade's debutante of debauchery in the eyes of the U.S. congress#closely followed by#the future of america is simple: collapse. if all of the youth are dead#there are no hands to tie the government and no citizens to govern#i don't write formal essays often - i haven't in 4 years actually - so i have no clue if i'm Good at them but im trying !!#cherri.txt

Only a few weeks left to vote in the California Primary. I’m running this year for US Senate. I’ve tried voting for the least worst politicians and that hasn’t worked.
As a experiment I’m promoting Campaign Finance Reform with my campaign. I think the only people who count are the ones with the right to vote. Corporations aren’t people, they’re property.
Time for the We The People Amendment! Vote for John Rose and join with me for campaign finance reform.

Congrats on your citizenship! If you’ll be 18 before Election Day, you have the right to vote in federal, state, and local elections. This is your chance to influence the leadership in your community — and in the United States as a whole. In this article, we’ll walk you through the voter registration process.
Learn the voting rules in your state
Voting rules are different in every state. However, with exception to North Dakota, all states require citizens to register if they want to vote. How you register to vote can vary too. In many cases you can register to vote online, at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), or by using the National Voter Registration form.
Check your state’s deadline for registration
You can check your state’s deadline for registering here, and learn about specific details on your state’s voter registration process, by visiting your state or local territory’s election office website. Whether or not you can vote in the upcoming midterm elections, registering to vote now will allow you to vote in the presidential election in 2024, so just do it!
Confirm you’re registered to vote
To confirm you’re registered to vote, you can check your voter registration status online, over the phone, by mail, or in person. Like registering itself, this varies state by state, so it’s helpful to check with your local election office.
When you’re confirming your registration, there are a few things to watch out for:
Your name is accurate and on the voter list
Your address is up to date
The polling place is correct
If you can’t find your name on the voter list, reach out to your election office as soon as possible! Every time you move or change your name you have to update your registration or re-register.
Determine your polling place
Once you’ve registered to vote, your election office will likely send you a voter registration card that tells you your polling place. On Election Day, you’ll go there to vote. You’ll probably need to show an ID before you can vote and if you know you can’t make it to your polling place on Election Day, you might qualify to vote by mail.
Important!
If you’re a lawful permanent resident and not a U.S. citizen, you cannot vote in federal and state elections. It can be confusing because if you’re at the DMV to get your license, the clerk might ask if you want to register to vote. If you accept, there is a risk of deportation.Non-citizens, such as green card holders cannot vote in federal, state, and most local elections. Learn more about who can vote here.
If you have any questions about the U.S. voting process process, USAGov can help! Call at 1-844-USA-GOV1 (1-844-872-4681).
Learn more about the other benefits of U.S. citizenship, and congrats again!
